The new Promags are easy to install at the exact centre of a pipeline ensuring high accuracy and a perfect seal.

Endress+Hauser has developed a new range of compact, wafer-style magnetic flowmeters that it says are lightweight and cost effective, specifically designed to reliably record water flow in pipelines where flowmeter weight and size matter.

The new Promag 10/50D range offers an innovative housing design that incorporates bolt centring guides, making them easy to install at the exact centre of a pipeline ensuring high accuracy and a perfect seal, according to Endress+Hauser.

"Whether in an industrial plant or a water treatment facility, knowing the exact flow rate of water in pipelines is vital. Field instrumentation installations are becoming more condensed and the application of glass reinforced plastic piping is increasingly making the use of conventional flange mounted flow meters impractical," the company said in a press release.

Promag 10/50D has been designed with a rugged, cast aluminium sensor housing that offers built-in stainless steel grounding discs as standard. Their ultra-short tube length was designed to offer the possibility of retrofitting the flowmeters into most existing installations without cutting the pipe work.

The meter's compact sensor is foam filled to provide a high degree of immunity to vibration and humidity. With an environmental protection rating of IP67, the new devices are at home in the most arduous conditions, says the manufacturer.

The Promag 10/50D range has also been approved for drinking water applications by several internationally recognised water authorities.

The new meters incorporate Endress+Hauser's Promag 10/50 transmitters, making them fully compatible with the company's Fieldcare software and Fieldcheck verification tool.

Transmitters are available with a full range of output configurations, including 4-20mA, frequency totaliser, HART and Profibus.

With an accuracy of ±0.5%, the Promag 10/50D can provide a reliable, compact and cost effective flow measurement solution for all water applications, says Endress+Hauser.
